| Non-Bar Side Hung Design 24 Hardwood Casement WindowsDesign 24 windows are constructed with combed joints for rigidity, they have a one-piece head and a two-piece sill without horns, this ensures that all Design 24 windows keep their shape, strength and performance qualities.
Windows are manufactured in hardwood from the Shorea species and treated with a `Meranti` base cote.
All timber used in the manufacture of Design 24 windows conforms to BSEN942: 1996 for classification of timber as follows:
Class J10 for beads.
Class J40 for sashes.
Class J50 for frames.
Design 24 windows are manufactured in accordance with BS644: Part 1: 2003 for construction specification.
All timber is vacuum preservative treated and come with a 30 year manufactures warranty against rot and fungal decay.
All arises (corners) are rounded to ensure even coverage of finishing coats.
To meet the robust requirements of the Building Regulation Part L the `R` sub sill is supplied as standard (90mm projection = 157mm overall).
Sashes are manufactured with a 15mm x 42mm wide glazing rebate which meets NHBC regulations, and allows for 24mm glazing units. Glazing beads are provided as standard 12mm x 15mm, and the sill bead comes complete with nylon spacers fitted to allow for a drained and vented system. All externally beaded factory glazed units carry a 10 year manufactures guarantee.
Units fitted with annealed glass conform to BS952: Part 1: 1995 and BS5713: 1994.Units supplied with saftey glass conform to BS952: Part 1: 1995 and BS5713: 1994. Units supplied with safety glass conform to BS952: Part 1: 1995; BS5713: 1994 and BS6206: Class A: 1994 or BSEN12600.
Windows are tested for weather tightness and meet the requirements of BS6375: Part 1: 2004 for severe weather rating. Brown weather strips are fitted as standard to crate a watertight seal. Storm-proof butt hinges are supplied as standard with reflex hinge upgrades available.
Design 24 Metric windows are supplied with ventilators to provide either 4000mm sq. ventilation (483mm – 626mm wide frames) or 8000mm sq. for 921mm wide and wider.
Design 24 Imperial windows are supplied with ventilators to provide either 4000mm sq. ventilation (438mm – 634mm wide frames) or 8000mm sq. for 921mm wide and wider.
This assista compliance with section F1 1995 Building Regulations. Ventilators are brown and are easily removed for decorating. |
